High Oleic Soybeans Created with Same Genetics as Top-Performing Commodity Varieties

High oleic soybeans are one of the latest and greatest innovations in the soy industry. Producing an oil with a favorable fat profile as well as superior cooking properties, these game-changing soybeans are starting to make their way into commercial kitchens and food manufacturing operations across the country. To meet growing demand, U.S. soybean farmers will have to continue increasing high oleic soybean acreage to 16 million planted acres, which is a big increase from today’s planted acres.

Extensive field-testing was conducted to ensure high oleic varieties stack up with their commodity counterparts.

“More than 700 on-farm yield trials have confirmed Plenish® high oleic soybeans are yielding the same as our leader package of products. Even in years of tough agronomic conditions, Plenish beans are up there with our best,” says Russ Sanders, DuPont Pioneer food and industry markets director. “To make that happen, Pioneer applies the same product advancement factors to our Plenish varieties as we do our most elite commodity varieties. The end result is that farmers should see Plenish soybeans perform just as well our leader products.”
