The U.S. Soy community recognizes that farmers are faced with varying levels of stress resulting from a host of concerns, the coronavirus pandemic, weather issues, market disruptions and other farm stressors. It’s one reason why the American Soybean Association and your soy checkoff have teamed up to provide resources to steward mental wellness in these unprecedented times.
ASA and the soy checkoff collaborated to launch #SoyHelp. More than an awareness campaign, #SoyHelp provides resources to combat farm stress and help those who may be struggling. ASA’s resources include where to start seeking help, tips for managing stress and testimonials from farmers.
Mental Health and Managing Stress on the Farm Webinar
The soy checkoff and ASA sponsored a webinar during Farm Journal Virtual Field Days. The webinar featured experts Deborah Reed, Ph.D., from the University of Kentucky and Wendy Brannen, ASA senior director of marketing and communications.
The webinar offers farmers strategies to recognize and manage stressors as well as additional resources to cope with the unique challenges of mental health on the farm.
