Soy Innovation Challenge Deadline Extended to June 20 – Enhancing Sustainability and Capturing Value for Farmers

The Soy Innovation Challenge to award $100k in prizes to ag-tech startups, project teams and groups that capture value for soybean farmers through innovation and technology.

ST LOUIS (May 29, 2020) — The Yield Lab Institute (YLI) and the United Soybean Board (USB) are extending the application deadline to June 20, 2020 for the Soy Innovation Challenge. The Soy Innovation Challenge was launched in an effort to align stakeholders in the soy value chain to address issues that include the following: 

• Enhance structures that allow market signals to move between end-users and farmers,
• Quantify, link and capture sustainability, environmental impacts (e.g. carbon credits, reliefs)
• Use this sustainability, environmental-related data to communicate market signals that captures value and profitability back to U.S. soybean farmers

This non-dilutive startup accelerator program identifies innovative soybean value chain-based solutions, and supports the selected participants with mentoring and resources to help advance their ideas, innovations and technologies in the soy value chain. The USB and YLI invite global ag-tech startups, project teams and groups from every facet of the soy value chain to apply to this unique and dynamic accelerator program, including:

• Genetics, Genomics
• Chemicals
• Harvesting
• Processing & Distribution
• Marketing & Communications
• Consumer Products
