Vote for Your Favorite Face of Farming

December 2, 2012

Who should be the face of American agriculture? It’s up to you.

Nine farmers and ranchers from across the country have been named finalists in the U.S. Farmers and Ranchers Alliance’s Faces of Farming competition, with the winner chosen by popular vote and interviews.

Earlier this year, the U.S. Farmers and Ranchers Alliance (USFRA) launched a nationwide search to find the best person to represent all U.S. farmers and ranchers – the face of today’s agriculture. After reviewing more than 100 applications, the organization announced nine finalists at its most recent Food Dialogues event in New York City.

Finalists include: Chris Chinn (Missouri), Will Gilmer (Alabama), Daphne Holterman (Wisconsin), Brenda Kirsch (Oregon), Tim Nilsen (California), Eric McClam (South Carolina), Katie Pratt (Illinois), Bo Stone (North Carolina) and Janice Wolfinger (Ohio).

The nine finalists of USFRA’s Faces of Farming were announced at the recent Food Dialogues event in New York City. The winner, who will become the face of agriculture, will be determined by the results from a public vote and an interview with a panel of judges.

Through Dec. 15, visit www.fooddialogues.com to learn more about each of the finalists and the work they do. Consumers, farmers and ranchers can vote for whom they believe best represents those across the country who work to bring food to the table. These votes will be factored into the decision to determine the winner, who will be tapped to share stories and experiences on a national stage to set the record straight about the way we feed our nation.

In addition to the public vote, a panel of judges will interview and evaluate the finalists to help determine the winners of Faces of Farming and Ranching. Winners will be announced in early January 2013.
