  • Nearly 98 percent of the soybean meal used domestically goes to feed poultry and livestock.
  • The U.S. animal agriculture industry is responsible for more than $252 billion in economic output in the United States.
  • Animal agriculture accounts for more 1.8 million U.S. jobs, and the livestock and poultry industries account for nearly $41 billion in household income and over $6 billion in property taxes.
  • Over the past three decades, export sales have represented the fastest growing utilization of U.S. meat.
  • In one year, more than 136 million bushels of soybeans are exported in the form of poultry and red meat products – that’s enough soybeans to fill the Superdome and then some.
  • As the fastest growing export from the U.S., pork holds the greatest potential to significantly expand indirect soybean meal exports.
